Aldworth James & Bond was appointed to construct and install a public art installation designed by the Royal College of Art in Wembley, north London. Working with the RCA’s student design team and structural engineer Engenuiti AJ&B manufactured the set of three ‘shop windows’, designed to contain posters and objects with local information that would change every month.

Two of the windows — timber construction clad with weather proof boards and glazed — are free to rotate through interaction with the public, with the third window remaining static. A solid metal track connects each vitrine, and three contained benches for public use. This was a hugely enjoyable and interesting project for Aldworth James & Bond, and working with the RCA was a fantastic experience.
