What we did

Aldworth James & Bond has fabricated a range of furniture for a new network of business and community hubs launched by Lewisham Council. Working with Studio Raw on three Dek locations in Catford, Ladywell and Deptford, our carpentry teams created desks, movable partitions and cafe furniture for a series of co-working spaces, offices, meeting rooms and retail units.

The Dek locations were specifically designed to nurture creative small businesses in the Lewisham borough and the design concept looked to foster a nurturing environment for these enterprises to thrive. The Catford location utilised vacant floors of the old Town Hall, with small units installed at Deptford Lounge. In Ladywell, we installed our furniture in the ground floor space of the unique ‘pop-up village’ at PLACE/Ladywell— units providing temporary accommodation for homeless families as well as a café, retail space and offices, which was designed by renowned architecture practice Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
