What we did
Aldworth James & Bond worked with brand experience agency I-AM to create a retail pop-up space in the heart of Covent Garden for Hem, an online lifestyle and homeware outlet. Opening at the beginning of London Design Festival, the three month pop-up also launched Hem’s latest lighting product ‘Alphabeta’, the world’s first online-customisable lamp.

Alongside Alphabeta, the shop also showcased the full range of Hem’s innovative and functional items for the home, and was spread over two floors. Connecting the two spaces was a unique ‘bird cage’ structure, cut using AJ&B’s CNC machine, with one of several Hem birds perched on each level.
As well as the bird cage, we manufactured several display stands — modular in design for easy reconfiguration. The stands were fabricated by AJ&B, powder coated and fitted with stained birch ply. We also delivered all signage, graphics and light boxes, as well as sample boxes and product card holders. Delivered over a short time frame, this project was a fantastic success and challenge that we really enjoyed.
