What we did
Aldworth James & Bond worked with architecture practice YOU&ME on a brand new shopfront for a Deptford High Street space, commissioned by London Borough of Lewisham Council. The project involved the full removal of the existing modern shopfront, and the construction of a new timber frontage in the traditional style. Our work included digitally fabricating the solid wood corbels, new pilasters and handpainted signage.
The curved transom added a charming touch to the new shopfront, and finished in a bold blue, making the whole space stand out. This is our second project working with our local council, and we were delighted that local creative company Deptford Does Art was selected as the new tenants. 28 Deptford High Street is now a wonderful gallery space, with a bar and shop.
